The Rotary Club of Mauldin has installed a Little Free Library beside the main entrance to the gymnasium at the Mauldin Sport Center. "We are pleased to have this Library in a safe location that is available to a large number of people, and we encourage everyone to stop, take a book, read it, and return it," said Club President Jim Mitchell.
The Rotary Club coordinated closely with the City of Mauldin through Keira Kitchings, of the City's Office of Cultural Affairs, to assure access for all interested readers.
The Club is seeking public suggestions for other Little Free Library locations in the Mauldin area. Literacy and education are major worldwide initiatives of Rotary, as are polio eradication, sanitation and safe drinking water. The Mauldin Rotary Club meets for lunch each Tuesday at the Mauldin Cultural Center, and welcomes interested visitors.
